I have always loved to sketch from nature, and from the beginning I had a special affinity for watercolor. William Mallord Turner, John Constaple, Winslow Homer, and John Singer Sargent are among the many painters who have been my towering muses. I have always painted with oil and other mediums, but watercolor was the most natural and intuitive for me.
